CHALLENGES AND STRUGGLES AS A MUSICIAN  by YUNGPROBEATZ



Starting out your career as a musician, you will definitely face plenty of struggles and challenges. Today, I will be discussing my personal struggles and common challenges in making music a career.

If you're a newbie in music industry, you should congratulate yourself. Acknowledging your problem is the beginning of the solution. Have you seen a soldier going to war without a gun? That's it. 

Knowing the challenges ahead makes you prepare for what you're about to face. Without wasting time, let's dive in  

1.  LACK OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES

Lack of financial resources to record high quality song that will make your talent shine through, promote your music and brand seems to be the number one challenge almost every up-and-coming artists usually face.  

I understand that money is not everything, but it is something, especially in this century. 

Lately, it is very hard for many talents to shine because of fund. We've seen several wack artists pulling numbers on digital platforms and gaining fans on social media. This is all because they have financial backups.

2. SELF PROMOTION

Without proper promotion, I'm sorry to say, your music can never reach the potential audience. You will struggle to promote your song effectively and efficiently. 

It's been ton of work for me managing my social media pages as an artist and as a music producer simultaneously.

3. MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES

Let me whisper this to your ear "The pressure of investing, strugglinig, grinding, hustling and buzzling with no tangible achievement is so disgusting and discouraging.

Performance anxiety, burnout, and criticism can take a toll on musician's overall well-being. Infact, this has caused many people to give up. Be ready to face all this and always surround yourself with good energy.


4. TIME MANAGEMENT ISSUE

Life can be messy sometimes. You may get busy with stuffs and abandon your music project. Real life is overwhelming, leaving little time for relaxation.

Time mismanagement can screw your career. Schedule your daily activities ahead. Stive to keep it rolling.


5. OTHER FACTORS: These are other challenges you will definitely face

i. Friends and family's rejection

ii. You will play free show

iii. You will perform shows to empty rooms

iv. You will abandon some projects

v. You will lose that record contest

vi. You will lose money

The list goes on and on. The reason for this post is to prepare you ahead. Maybe you've experienced any of the aforementioned challenges, Just keep moving. See y'all at the top
